I started Blogging Photographer out of a passion for photography, blogging, and networking with other like minded individuals. My goal is to make Blogging Photographer a valuable resource for any photographer interested in promoting & profiting from their photography online. I’ll cover everything from creating and setting up a new blog to maintaining, promoting, and profiting from a successful blog – while maintaing photography specific, in my scope.
20 5 Questions
Will you help me setup my new blog?
Of Course. My goal is to empower you, the reader, with enough information to feel confident enough to create and maintain a successful blog on your own. Take a look at the Quick Start Series, they should provide you with a solid jumping off point to get your feet wet. Feel free to post a comment if you have questions, I’ll be happy to help.
However If you are interested in a little more hands on approach then shoot me an email at kirk@bloggingphotographer.com and I’d be more than happy to discuss your needs, maybe set up a consultation and take things from there.
What blogging software do you use?
Blogging Photographer is powered by WordPress, arguably the most popular and easiest to use blogging software in the world.
What Theme do you use?
I am currently using a slightly modified version of the incredibly complex and insanely beautiful Autofocus theme from Allan Cole. Give him a shout if you dig the design.
Who do you host with?
Blogging Photographer is hosted by AN Hosting. I would absolutely recommend them. I have used a number of different hosts in the past including ThinkHost, 1and1.com, and IX Webhosting, but none are as good as AN Hosting. They currently offer a $6.95 per month package that includes 500gb of space, 5tb of bandwidth, and a free domain name for life! Of course like any good host there is free 24/7 live technical support, and they are by far the best host I have worked with yet.
All my sites are now hosted under one $6.95 per month account at AN Hosting. If you don’t have any hosting for your blog yet then you should sign up with AN Hosting. If you are already hosting your site elsewhere you should consider moving to AN Hosting. They are absolutely worth it.
Will you review my web site, photography, product, service, or software, etc?
I am always interested in new products and services that relate to photography, or blogging (even some that aren’t) Send an email to kirk@bloggingphotographer.com and tell me about your product or service and I will gladly review on this site. If you’d like us to feature your website please also include your url, a very brief explanation of the type of work you do and a few high resolution photos of your work.
I hope that you will enjoy what we have to offer, and will voice any and all opinions, comments, or suggestions along the way.
